My transition to college and how it relates the book, "The Transition to College Writing" by Keith Hjortshoj
The transition to college for me was very hard. I had to study more and turn in a lot more papers. It is also a lot more stressful with all the due dates and works that need to be turned in so close together. To be in college you definitely have to be focused, with good time management, and a great mindset. But if you just do your work and turn your work in on time you will be just fine.
I think listening, reading, and writing are important processes because those are the processes that will get you the grades you need. You need to be a great listener because you need to white down good notes so that you will understand what your learning. Reading helps to because if you read over what your learning you will retain the knowledge a lot better. I think the role of the first year writing course is important because you do not write very many papers in high school but that is all you pretty much do in college. It sets a base for you so you can write well formatted papers for the rest of college and even throughout life.
